Given the positive response we have received from Whispering Wind readership on the original seven part Bata Shoe Thunderbird series [1], I have chosen to add two additional articles on this subject using two great pair of Thunderbird moccasins that are not in the Bata Shoe Collection. This article will address Arapahoe use of the Thunderbird design, and next issue will conclude the series with a very fine pair of Thunderbird moccasins beaded entirely in 16/0 cut beads from my own collection. This edition of the MoccasinCorner adds to my earlier series on the Bata Shoe Cheyenne moccasins with Thunderbird designs and explores Arapahoe use of the same design motifs.
